Melissa Bender, 33, of Yucaipa Killed in Big Bend Car Accident, Riverside County

BIG BEND, California (July 7, 2014) – Melissa Bender, 33, of Yucaipa has died following a crash Wednesday morning in Riverside County, according to a press release by the Riverside County Sheriff Coroner.

About 11:04 a.m., on July 2, CHP officers responded to the collision on Highway 62, just west of mile marker 138 in this small community near Parker, Arizona. Paramedics responded to the collision and transported Bender by ambulance to the Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, but she later died about 7:13 p.m. the same day.

The CHP’s Needles station is heading up the investigation into the crash.
