The crash took place about 10:15 a.m. on the on-ramp to the freeway north near Ethanac Road.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a 2015 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck was traveling in one lane of the on-ramp while at the same time a 2009 Freightliner 2-axle truck was headed in the other lane.
At some point the lanes joined and the two trucks collided. The Tacoma spun clockwise and went off the side of the freeway, where it rolled down a dirt embankment twice and struck a chain link fence.
CHP affirmed the occupants in the pickup, 53-year-old Virgil Ursu and 40-year-old Marianna Ursu, suffered minor to moderate injuries. One of the two Perris residents was reportedly extricated from the car.
They were both transported to Inland Valley Medical Center with lacerations and complaints of pain.
Meanwhile, the Freightliner operator, 52-year-old Fontana resident Jeronimo Ochoa, was unharmed.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
