Pedestrian Killed 710 Freeway Crash in Compton

710 Freeway pedestrian crashCOMPTON, California (April 29, 2016) —  A pedestrian was struck and killed by a passing vehicle as they got out of a Freeway Service Patrol tow truck on the northbound Interstate 710 Freeway at East Alondra Boulevard, a California Highway Patrol report said.

The fatal crash took place about 8:08 a.m. and prompted a response by police and the Compton Fire Department. The passing motorist struck the person and their parked  truck. The CHP report stated the pedestrian may have died or was gravely injured in the crash. The driver who struck the pedestrian remained at the scene and was questioned by authorities. Police closed the Nos. 5 and 6 traffic lanes and issued a SigAlert to investigate the crash.
