Fresno Fed-Ex Truck Accident Golden State Boulevard
FRESNO, Calif. (Sept. 17, 2018) — An oncoming Fed-Ex truck slammed into a car Saturday afternoon killing its driver and badly injuring his passenger at Golden State Boulevard and American Avenue, according to the Fresno Bee.
The 64-year-old man driving the brown 1999 Toyota Corolla died and his wife, Eufrosina Fructuosa Guzman Ramirez, 58, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
The crash took place about 2 p.m. The injured driver was trapped in his vehicle and extricated by firefighters before being transported to Community Regional Medical Center. Unfortunately he later died of his injuries. His wife was also taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police say the man drove into the path of the Fed-Ex truck as he traveled east to west on American Avenue. The traffic on Golden State Boulevard did not have a stop sign, but American Avenue did have a stop sign.
The delivery truck driver survived with unknown injuries.
Fresno Car Accident Investigation
It’s unknown for certain who is responsible for this collision. Police are going over the evidence and any witness statements to determine fault.
