12 People Injured in South El Monte After Bus and Semi Collide
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (Dec. 18, 2024) – Twelve people were injured when a Metro bus crashed into the back of a stopped semi-truck early Wednesday on North Rosemead Boulevard in South El Monte.
The two-vehicle crash occurred in an industrial area at around 6 a.m. on Dec. 18th at the intersection with Klingerman Street, just south of the San Bernardino (10) Freeway.
The bus collided with a parked truck loaded with lumber in front of Ace Lumber, according to the Los Angeles County Fire Department.
The LACFD responded and transported six or seven people including the bus driver to the hospital and an elderly man who was listed in critical condition.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department reported the older man suffered severe head trauma and the others had minor injuries.
Authorities closed down the northbound lanes of Rosemead Boulevard due to the El Monte bus accident.
