Victims Described as Teenagers
IRVINE, California (April 14, 2016) – Two teenagers were injured after a car slams through an ice cream shop at Jamboree Road and Alton Parkway Wednesday evening, according to NBC Los Angeles. (map)
The accident happened at around 9:00 p.m. in the Diamond Jamboree shopping center.
Preliminary report stated that a 30-year-old female driver accidentally stepped on the throttle pedal instead of the brake.
The event caused the car to plow 25 feet into the Afters Ice Cream shop, as mentioned in the article.
Two teen customers were injured upon impact.
The force from the smash was significant, resulting in the two teenagers transported to a nearby medical facility for a confined treatment of their sustained wounds of still unknown severity. Both their identities were not released by the authorities until family and relatives have been respectively notified.
Responding paramedic personnel also transported the involved motorist to the hospital.
Investigators continue to look more closely into the gathered evidences before pronouncing closure and citations on the case.
