2-Vehicle Collision on State Route 55
COSTA MESA, Calif. (May 16, 2024) — Two people were injured in a multi-vehicle crash on the southbound Costa Mesa 55 Freeway, just north of 22nd Street in Costa Mesa.
The collision occurred at around 12 p.m. on May 16th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The CHP dispatch reported the drivers of a black Volkswagen Jetta sedan and a silver Acura TLX sedan were involved. The Acura was facing the wrong way in the center divider after the crash.
The Costa Mesa Fire Department sent paramedics to help two people injured in the crash and transported them both to Kaiser Permanente Orange County – Irvine Medical Center.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on the 55 Freeway in Costa Mesa.
