The accident was reported at 6:39 a.m. on the westbound 60 Freeway, west of the 10 Freeway and east of Gilman Springs Road.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a driver lost control on the two-lane stretch of the 60 freeway through the Badlands mountain range and struck a wall.
Another motorist then collided with the first vehicle, causing several other cars and a semi-truck trailing the crash scene to pile up. The big rig jackknifed while one vehicle overturned.
The CHP incident log indicated that at least two people were transported to a hospital with unspecified injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the cause of the incident.
