Rollover Crash on 80 Freeway Injures 2 People in Pinole
Driver and Seriously Hurt Passenger Extricated from Car
As per the article, police said a 1991 Mazda Miata was going east on the 80 Freeway when for an unknown reason the car crashed into the center divider and rolled over several times just before noon.
The Miata landed upside down, pinning its two occupants inside.
California Highway Patrol affirmed that the driver was transported to a nearby hospital to be treated for minor injuries. His female passenger was flown to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek to be treated for major injuries.
Both were conscious and breathing when they were extricated from their vehicle. Their names were not released.
The cause of the incident is still under investigation.
