CARMEL VALLEY, California — According to an article by Fox 5, a wrong-way collision resulted in injuries to two parties on Highway 56 Tuesday before midnight.
On March 28 at 11:45 p.m., a Toyota RAV 4 drove westbound in the eastbound lanes of the state route and sideswiped a Nissan Rogue SUV, barely avoiding a head-on crash.
Emergency crews arrived at the scene near Carmel County Road and rescued both drivers who were taken to Scripps Hospital in La Jolla for treatment of minor injuries.
Authorities believe the wrong-way driver was drunk during the accident. Investigation is ongoing.
