The collision involving two cars racing was reported about 2 a.m.
As per the article, police said both vehicles were going west on Ball Road at high speeds when one car lost control, jumped the north curb and sheared a light pole.
That vehicle then hit several vehicles and became engulfed in flames before plowing into the patio of an apartment building.
Police affirmed that two people were found dead inside burning car. A third occupant who was outside was taken to the hospital with second-and-third degree burns and is in critical condition.
It was not immediately known if the severely wounded victim was ejected or exited the wreckage. The Los Angeles Times only identified him as a 24-year-old Anaheim man.
Meanwhile, the apartment sustained minor structural damage and three people were displaced as a result. At least five other vehicles that were parked near the building were damaged in the accident.
The other car involved was described as a red sports car whose driver fled the scene.
