Jazmine Cano, 23, and Elizabeth Cano, 25, both suffered fatal injuries following the traffic accident, according to ABC10 and CBS8 News.

The deadly crash occurred around 2:25 a.m. on Sunday, May 14th, according to the San Diego Union Tribune.

Driver Arrested Hit-and-run Charges

Police later arrested the suspect, Tony Morena, 53, on suspicion of hit-and-run after he turned himself in to authorities a few hours later.

A driver in Honda Civic with three passengers, including Jazmine and Elizabeth Cano, was traveling westbound on Paradise Valley Road. The car turned left turn onto Munda Road in front of an eastbound Ford F-150 pickup truck and the two vehicles collided.

Tony Morena, who was driving the truck, reportedly left the scene without stopping to help the three women and one man in the car.

Police used the Jaws of Life to remove the roof of the car to free her from the vehicle.

Also, the 25-year-old man riding in the Honda suffered pain, but was not taken to a hospital, police said.

A few hours after the Paradise Hills crash, Tony Morena went to the San Diego Police Department’s Western Division station in the Morena area. Authorities booked the suspect into jail on suspicion of vehicular manslaughter and hit-and-run charges.
