Father and his Daughter, 3, Killed in Hit-Run Crash in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, Calif. (March 2, 2022) – A father and his 3-year-old daughter died Tuesday night after a pickup truck crashed into a Long Beach apartment building on Rose Avenue.
Police are searching for the motorist who was driving a 2014 Dodge Ram pickup truck who ran away on foot from the scene of the crash in the 6600 block of Rose Avenue. The suspect is described as a man in his early 20s.
The crash happened about 10 p.m. on Tuesday, March 1st, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The pickup truck was traveling northbound on Rose Avenue at high speed when it veered off the roadway and into the apartment building.
The pickup truck reportedly crashed into the apartment building and injured multiple residents who were inside. Some good Samaritans came to help those hurt until the Long Beach Fire Department arrived.
Despite their efforts, a 42-year-old man died at the scene. The man’s daughter also suffered major injuries and died at a hospital, police said.
