
Pickup, SUV in Fatal Head-on Crash
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (July 22, 2024) — Two men were killed in a head-on crash early Saturday between an SUV and pickup truck on Buena Vista Boulevard, just west of Lamont.
Also, police are investigating whether or not alcohol or drugs were a factor in the deadly crash at 2 a.m. on July 20th, just south of Bakersfield, according to KGET.
The California Highway Patrol reported the drivers of a Chevrolet Tahoe SUV and a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck collided due to unknown circumstances at the intersection with Adobe Road. The driver of the Tahoe was heading east and the Silverado pickup was westbound prior to the collision.
Authorities stated both drivers suffered major injuries and died at the scene, but a passenger from the Tahoe survived with minor injuries and was transported to Kern County Medical Center.
The gender, age and identity of the two who died was not released.
