Double Fatal Collision at Juniper Avenue and Augusta Lane
Atwater, CA (November 2, 2022) – Two people died following a pedestrian accident that occurred in the area of Juniper Avenue and Augusta Lane.
According to Merced Sun-Star News, a black Chrysler minivan was driving around Atwater Wednesday morning. Earlier reports indicated the minivan was heading west on Juniper Avenue. When the driver approached the intersection at Augusta Lane, he lost control of the car and veered off the roadway.
Officials said the minivan ended up hitting a light pole, and two pedestrians walking along the sidewalk. The horrible crash took place around 9:20 a.m.
Deadly Pedestrian Accident in Atwater
When emergency crews arrived at the scene, they found two bodies lying on the ground. Authorities later confirmed the two pedestrians sadly died from injuries sustained in the accident. Pending confirmation and notification of next of kin, the names of the fatal victims remained undisclosed.
No immediate information was available on the driver of the minivan.
At this time, detectives continue to investigate exactly how and why the deadly accident happened at Juniper Avenue and Augusta Lane.
