2 Killed in Crash at McKinley and Westlawn Avenues in Fresno County

Two Others Injured in Collision at Fresno County Intersection
FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (May 16, 2025) — Isac Gomez, 22, of Fresno, and Skye Banda, 20, of Selma, both died in a crash Thursday night at McKinley and Westlawn avenues in Fresno County.
Two others were injured in the fatal crash at 9:06 p.m. on May 15th, 2025, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The driver of a Honda Civic was traveling northbound on Westlawn Avenue, meanwhile, a second driver in a Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling westbound on McKinley Avenue. Authorities say the driver of the Civic allegedly drove through a stop sign when it was hit broadside by the truck.
Upon impact, the 20-year-old woman in the right front passenger seat of the Civic died at the scene. Also, the 22-year-old male driver of the Civic was transported by ambulance to a local hospital with major injuries, but later died at the hospital. Both were later identified as Isac Gomez, 22, and Skye Banda, 20.
Also, a 70-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman who were traveling together in the truck were treated for minor to moderate injuries, the CHP said.
Investigators are working on the case, but it’s unknown if drugs or alcohol were factors.
