 2 Killed in Crash on Highway 29, north of St. HelenaST. HELENA, Calif. (Nov. 19, 2019) — Two men were killed early Tuesday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 29, just north of St. Helena.

The crash was reported about 2:10 a.m. on Highway 29 near Bale Lane.

A 68-year-old Yountville man was heading southbound on Highway 29 in a 2014 Chevrolet Sonic when the vehicle crossed the double yellow lines over into the northbound lane where it crashed head-on into a 2010 Toyota Prius. 
 
The 32-year-old Lake County man driving the Prius and the Yountville man in the Sonic both died at the scene, according to the California Highway Patrol. 

Police closed down the highway for nearly three hours to investigate the cause of the crash, the CHP said.
