Solo-Vehicle Crash Leaves 2 Badly Injured on Vista Del Mar
EL SEGUNDO, Calif. (May 24, 2018) — A driver of a Shelby Cobra replica sports car and his passenger both suffered major injuries in a solo crash in the 300 block of Vista Del Mar, according to the Long Beach Press Telegram.
The collision took place about 5:45 p.m. on Tuesday, May 22. The news report stated that the driver lost control of the vehicle while heading northbound on Vista Del Mar. The vehicle overturned several times and crashed through a gate in front of the Chevron refinery property.
The 75-year-old Hermosa Beach man who was driving and his 27-year-old passenger who is from Hawthorne, were both taken to hospital for treatment of major injuries.
The El Segundo Police Department is investigating. They closed down the roadway for 18 hours on the night of the collision to piece together evidence and try to figure out what happened. Alcohol is not suspected, but it’s possible that speed was a factor in the crash.

If a negligent driver or another entity is at fault for a collision resulting in injuries to you or a loved one, there may be grounds for a personal injury or wrongful death claim. While this is always a personal decision, for many the financial losses associated with a traffic accident are significant. The losses include time lost off work, medical and funeral expenses, loss of consortium and pain and suffering.
