The solo-car accident took place around 10:50 a.m. about a mile and a half from River Road
As per the article, Forestville Fire Protection District said a black Pontiac GTO was going west around a corner when for an unknown reason its driver crossed the road and struck a tree.
The Pontiac then plunged about 40 feet down the opposite embankment.
Firefighters cut the roof off the car to free two male occupants trapped inside. Both were eventually pulled up the embankment on backboards.
The two men were severely injured and was then transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver was flown while his passenger was taken by ground ambulance with less severe injuries.
The injured parties were only described as men in their 30s.
Authorities are still investigating the incident.
