Young Victims ID’d as Beto Torres and Anthony Gomez, 13
AZUSA, California (August 30, 2016) – According to California Highway Patrol dispatch team, a suspected DUI collision occurred in the area of East Renwick Road and North Heathdale Avenue on Tuesday evening.
The incident took place at about 6:30 p.m.
As per the report log, a motorist who appeared to be driving under the influence fled after being involved in a traffic accident and subsequently prompted a second crash.
The dispatch included that a child and another person were trapped underneath a vehicle.
An article by ABC 7 said two 13-year-old boys, Beto Torres and Anthony Gomez, were sitting on a curb when they were struck by a car.
The driver crashed into a parked car prior to hitting the teens.
One of the young victims required facial reconstruction surgery while the other sustained broken ribs.
Meanwhile, CHP mentioned that tow-trucks were requested for two Honda Accord, colored green and black respectively, which were apparently involved in the wreck.
Authorities will continue to investigate.
