2-Vehicle Crash Leaves Hydrant Sheered in Chatsworth

CHATSWORTH, Calif. (Nov. 13, 2023) – One person was injured in a two-vehicle crash in Chatsworth on Sunday that sheered a hydrant and knocked over a street light.

Police, fire and paramedics responded to the crash scene at around 12:54 p.m. to 10300 N. De Soto Ave., the Los Angeles Police Department said.

It’s unknown at this time what caused the crash between the two motorists. One of them also hit a fire hydrant and light pole.

One person was trapped in a vehicle after the collision, but firefighters from the Los Angeles Fire Department managed to extricate them safely and transport them to a hospital.

Maintenance crews from the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power responded to fix the light pole and hydrant.
