2-Vehicle Crash Highway 154, San Lucas Ranch in Santa Ynez

Head-on Crash on San Marcos Pass Road/State Route 154

SANTA YNEZ, Calif. (Sept. 6, 2024) — At least two vehicles were involved in a crash Friday on Highway 154 also known as San Marcos Pass Road in Santa Ynez.

The collision occurred at 2:12 p.m. on Sept. 6, 2024, just west of Lake Cachuma, according to the California Highway Patrol.

CHP officials reported a small red Volkswagen was heading westbound and allegedly swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a white sedan.

Other motorists also stopped, but it’s unknown if they were impacted.

Paramedics responded to help at least one injured person.

Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 154 in Santa Ynez.
