Pickup Truck, Prius Crash on I-580 Freeway
SAN LEANDRO, Calif. (June 28, 2024) — A driver in a blue pickup truck rear-ended a Toyota Prius on the eastbound Interstate 580 Freeway near 150th Street in San Leandro.
The two-vehicle collision occurred at around 1:48 p.m. on June 28th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported a blue Toyota Tacoma pickup truck crashed into the back of the blue Prius due to unknown circumstances. Also, a white BMW drove over debris in the roadway and pulled over to the right shoulder.
The Prius sustained major rear-end damage and was “crushed” by the pickup truck, the report said. The pickup also had major front-end damage.
Paramedics responded to help those injured in the collision, but there are no further details.
The case remains under investigation.
