20 Riders Stranded on Roller Coaster at Disneyland Resort in Anaheim
ANAHEIM, Calif. (July 1, 2024) — Roughly 20 Disneyland guests were stuck aboard the Incredicoaster after the Disney roller coaster broke down at California Adventure in Anaheim.
It happened at around 1:30 p.m. on Sunday, June 30th, in the Pixar Pier area, according to the Orange County Register. It’s unknown what caused the 6,000-foot-long looping roller coaster to malfunction. It was likely a scary experience for those aboard the coaster as it reaches speeds of 55 mph.
The OC newspaper reported Disney employees gave riders umbrellas to provide shade while rescuers worked to free them from the 120-foot tall roller coaster. The riders were removed from the ride using safety harnesses.
The theme park guests were stranded for more than an hour on the Disney California Adventure rider, but fortunately there were no physical injuries reported.
Disney closed down the Incredicoaster following the malfunction and there is no word on what caused the incident. However, the roller coaster also stalled the day before on Saturday, June 29.
The cause of the breakdown is not known at this time.
