Alan Brill, 63, Rosemary Brill, 77, Carmine Combs, 57, of Apple Valley Identified
APPLE VALLEY, California (July 31, 2017) — Driver Carmine Combs, 57, of Apple Valley has died in a crash that killed two people identified as Alan Brill and Rosemary Brill who were in a second vehicle at Bear Valley and Deep Canyon roads, according to the San Bernardino County Sheriff Coroner.
The crash took place about 12:40 p.m. on Sunday afternoon when Combs allegedly crashed his 2002 Chevrolet Suburban into a 2013 Honda Civic driven by a 63-year-old Apple Valley man and his 77-year-old female passenger. The two victims died of their injuries at the scene.
Combs was airlifted by helicopter to a local hospital where he later died of his injuries.
Investigation into Fatal Crash
The crash is under investigation by the Major Accident Investigation Team (MAIT) at the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Apple Valley Station.
Police will seek to find out what led to the crash and will assign fault to the negligent driver. There could be multiple factors attributing to the collision including mechanical failure, alcohol or drugs, medication, a medical emergency, a dangerous intersection or condition in the roadway and more.
