1 Suffers Major Injuries after Speeding Driver Collides with Pickup
NAPA COUNTY (April 15, 2016) – Three were injured, one seriously, in a collision on Highway 29 Thursday involving a Cal Fire utility truck, according to The Press Democrat. (map)
The crash took place at about 1:30 p.m. near Robert Louis Stevenson State Park.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said a driver of a GMC Jimmy was traveling at a high rate of speed south on the highway when entering a curve and lost control.
The GMC swerved into the northbound lane and into the path of the South Lake County Fire/Cal Fire pickup.
The truck then broadsided the GMC, slamming into its passenger side.
CHP told The Press Democrat that a passenger in the GMC was seriously injured and was airlifted to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital for treatment. The driver was transported by ground ambulance to Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa with moderate injuries
Meanwhile, the Cal Fire employee driving the truck was taken to St. Helena Hospital in Clearlake to be treated for minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
