SUV Crashes into Vehicles on West Vanowen Street
LAKE BALBOA, Calif. (Aug. 5, 2022) — A crash involving four vehicles on Vanowen Street happened late Thursday night in the Lake Balboa area of Los Angeles.
The collision occurred about 11:08 p.m. at 17730 W Vanowen Street, according to a report by the Los Angeles Fire Department. A driver in an SUV reportedly lost control while allegedly driving at high speed and collided with three other vehicles.
The LAFD reported that four vehicles were involved over a large area and one of them struck and toppled a utility pole before it overturned. One person became trapped in the SUV and was extricated before taken to the hospital with major injuries.
Two others suffered undisclosed injuries, but declined further medical care after being treated at the scene, fire officials said in the report.
The Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Traffic Division is heading up the investigation.
Investigators are working to determine the cause of the Vanowen Street crash.
