
Deadly 2-Vehicle Car Accident
CITY OF INDUSTRY, Calif. (Jan 15, 2025) — A driver is under arrest for DUI after a two-vehicle crash in the City of Industry that left three people dead at East Temple and North Azusa avenues.
The deadly crash occurred at around 10:45 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 14th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the driver of a gray 2023 Jeep Wrangler, 24-year-old Yasmin Flores Magana, was allegedly speeding when she ran a red light and T-boned a black 2018 Nissan Versa. She crashed into the side of the black vehicle and her car overturned, police said. The Nissan crashed into a metal pole.
Both vehicles were badly wrecked, but the black vehicle was completely destroyed and two of the three people riding in it died on the scene, according to KTLA 5 News.
Meanwhile, a third person from the Nissan was taken to a hospital where they also died shortly after the collision.
The Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner identified two of the three young men in their 20s who died. They were Carlos Cardona, 23, and Jossue de Leon Villegas, 21.
Police arrested Yasmin Flores Magana on DUI charges following the fatal crash.
The collision remains under investigation.
