Fatal Crash at Olympic Boulevard and Herbert Avenue
EAST LOS ANGELES, Calif. (April 8, 2022) — A fatal crash at East Olympic Boulevard and South Herbert Avenue in East Los Angeles early Friday morning left three people dead.
The deadly crash happened around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection, just south of the Santa Ana (5) Freeway, according to California Highway Patrol.
A solo vehicle crashed into a tree and caught fire due to unknown circumstances, CHP Officials said. The vehicle caught on fire and a big rig truck driver stopped to help them with a fire extinguisher.
Two people became trapped inside the vehicle.
The Los Angeles County Fire Department firefighters responded and extricated them from the vehicle.
Sadly, all three occupants of the vehicle were pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
