4-Vehicle Collision Leaves Three Dead, Three Injured
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. (Sept. 16, 2024) — Three people are dead after a multi-vehicle San Bernardino crash on the northbound Interstate 215 Freeway, just south of University Parkway.
The multi-vehicle collision occurred at 11:26 p.m. on September 14, 2024, according to a report by Victor Valley News Group.
The driver of a 2018 Toyota Corolla swerved onto the shoulder of the highway and hit a stopped 2020 Freightliner Cascadia, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The Toyota went on to collide with a 2010 Acura MDX that was on the same side of the freeway and then hit a 2024 Ram 3500 pickup truck.
Paramedics responded and located three female occupants from the Toyota Corolla with major injuries and they were all pronounced dead at the scene, the report said.
The San Bernardino County Coroner’s Office will release their names after relatives are notified.
Meanwhile, the Freightliner truck driver, and the drivers of the Acura, and the RAM were all treated for minor injuries.
Investigators are working to determine what led up to the San Bernardino crash on the 215 Freeway.
