The collision was reported around 12 p.m., just outside Tehachapi High School.
As per the article, Tehachapi police said the three students were walking on the west sidewalk in front of the school when they were hit by an SUV.
A woman driving the SUV apparently tried to stop in the parking area but stepped on the accelerator instead of the brake. She then drove across a small lawn and onto the sidewalk where the crash occurred.
Police affirmed that a 15-year-old student was flown to Antelope Valley Hospital and was listed in critical condition. The two other patients, ages 14 and 16, were taken by ground ambulance to San Joaquin Community Hospital with injuries described as moderate.
Their names have not been yet released.
Meanwhile, the vehicle went across the southbound lanes of Dennison Road and crossed over the median where it came to a rest in the northbound lane. The investigation is ongoing.
We offer our sincerest prayers and thoughts to the young victims and wish them a swift and full recovery.
