Two Work Trucks, Car Involved in South LA Crash

SOUTH LOS ANGELES, Calif., (Sept. 4, 2026) — A collision involving two work trucks and a car on the Interstate 405 Freeway South at Orange Avenue occurred early Friday morning in the Signal Hill area of South LA, resulting in significant delays and injuries.

The incident, reported on Sept. 4th at approximately 6:29 a.m., involved three vehicles: two white work trucks and a gray Ford. The collision blocked the Nos. 1 and 2 lanes of the freeway, according to the California Highway Patrol. Responding units quickly worked to clear the vehicles to the right shoulder to alleviate traffic congestion.

Emergency personnel from the Los Angeles Fire Department were dispatched at 6:39 a.m. after a notification changed the incident status to a traffic collision requiring medical attention. Initially, the problem was classified as a collision with no injuries, but it was later updated to include injuries.

The collision reportedly occurred when two construction trucks moved onto the northbound lanes from the center divider, ultimately leading to the crash with the gray Ford. The vehicles blocked the southbound lanes of I-405, causing significant delays during the morning commute.

Paramedics arrived on the scene to provide necessary medical assistance to the injured parties. The details of the injuries sustained by the individuals involved have not been released at this time.
