LOS BANOS, Calif., (July 7, 2026) — A major injury traffic collision involving three vehicles occurred Tuesday morning on westbound Highway 152 just west of Gonzaga Road in the Santa Nella area, just west of Los Banos.
The incident was reported at approximately 9:28 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. Initial reports indicated a collision involving a Toyota Corolla and a Ford Explorer, along with an unidentified third vehicle. The crash resulted in a significant blockage of the No. 1 Lane.
Emergency responders, including paramedics and firefighters, arrived promptly at the scene. AMR ambulance services were dispatched with a Code 3 urgency, reflecting the critical nature of the injuries sustained. The situation was initially categorized as a collision with unknown injuries, which was later escalated to a major injury collision as the severity of the incident became clear.
As authorities worked to address the immediate needs of the injured parties and clear the roadway, a coordinated effort was undertaken to rotate and transport the involved vehicles. Two towing services, Steitz and LB Transport, were contacted to assist in these efforts.
The identities and conditions of the injured individuals have not yet been disclosed. The CHP is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and urges anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward with information.
