Head-on Crash State Route 247 Near Landers
SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 4, 2025) — Three vehicles were involved in a crash Monday on Old Woman Springs Road near Mikiska Boulevard in the Johnson Valley area.
The head-on car accident occurred around 8 a.m. on Feb. 3rd, near Landers in San Bernardino County, according to the California Highway Patrol report.
Three people were injured including one who was trapped in the wreckage. San Bernardino County firefighters extricated the person using the Jaws of Life before they were airlifted to Desert Regional Medical Center.
The other two people were treated for minor injuries and at least one was taken to the hospital.
“This two-way stretch of Highway 247 is known for head-on collisions due to drivers attempting to pass slower-moving traffic,” said Attorney James Johnson.
The area is especially busy this week due to the King of the Hammers (KOH) event, Johnson said. This is a two-week off-road racing festival that happens in Johnson Valley, California.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Old Woman Springs Road in Johnson Valley.
