3-Vehicle Crash on Colfax Highway 174 (SR-174) in Grass Valley

Minor Injury Car Accident at State Route 174 & Bunswick Road
GRASS VALLEY, Calif. (June 18, 2026) — At least one person suffered minor injuries in a three-vehicle collision on Colfax Highway 174 (SR-174) near Brunswick Road on Thursday morning in Grass Valley, according to California Highway Patrol dispatch logs.
The crash was reported on June 18th at approximately 10:15 a.m. at a curve on State Route 174 where it meets with Brunswick Road. Initial reports indicated the collision involved a white Jeep Cherokee, a gray Toyota pickup truck, and a gray Toyota Camry.
The circumstances leading up to the collision were not released; however, vehicles traveling on Highway 174 have the right-of-way, and there is a stop sign posted for traffic on Brunswick Road.
Responding CHP officers later confirmed the incident involved three vehicles and classified it as a minor injury collision. At 10:59 a.m., the incident was officially upgraded from a property-damage crash to a minor-injury collision.
Authorities requested tow trucks for two of the vehicles involved, including the Jeep Cherokee and the Toyota pickup truck. Gold Country Tow and Advanced Towing were dispatched to remove the damaged vehicles from the scene.
Despite the collision, officials reported the vehicles were not blocking traffic lanes.
The extent of the injuries was not immediately released, and no information regarding the identities of those involved was available Thursday. The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
