3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 70, Near SR-49 in Vinton, Plumas County
PUMAS COUNTY, Calif., (May 7, 2026) — A multi-vehicle traffic collision occurred Thursday in Vinton, involving a Ford F-150, a Ford Explorer, and a Dodge Dart on Highway 70 near Ede Street in Plumas County.
The accident took place east of Highway 49 at approximately 11:17 a.m. on May 7th in front of 92400 Highway 70, according to the California Highway Patrol dispatch log. Emergency responders were dispatched promptly to the scene, including a helicopter and fire department units, following reports of a serious injury involving a severely broken leg. The Ford F-150 and Dodge Dart were reportedly not drivable, whereas the Ford Explorer was able to continue driving.
Witnesses indicated that two vehicles were off the roadway, while one vehicle remained on the road, partially blocking the eastbound lane. An individual attempted to clear debris from the road to mitigate hazards for other motorists.
