Traffic Accident Causes Major Delays on I-805 in San Diego

San Diego, CA (April 23, 2025) – A multi-vehicle crash in San Diego caused major traffic delays Wednesday morning on northbound Interstate 805 near the State Route 15 interchange, according to the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

The crash occurred around 6:50 a.m. on April 23rd and involved two or three vehicles, including a white 2009 Honda Civic, a white sedan, and a blue sedan. Initial reports indicate that one vehicle rolled over, prompting an emergency response.

CHP logs show that all lanes were initially blocked as first responders worked to clear the scene and move vehicles to the right-hand shoulder. One of the cars reportedly landed in the center divider, and the Honda Civic required a tow truck to be turned around and removed.

Emergency crews, including fire personnel and CHP officers, arrived quickly on the scene. One lane remained blocked for a period while responders assisted with traffic control and vehicle removal. No serious injuries have been reported at this time, though paramedics were dispatched as a precaution.

Tow trucks from Advantage Towing were called to the scene to assist in clearing the damaged vehicles, and traffic was significantly impacted during the morning commute.

Drivers were advised to seek alternate routes or expect delays as the cleanup and investigation continued.

Authorities are still investigating the cause of the collision.
