Minor Injury Collision in San Mateo Causes Delays on Highway 92

SAN MATEO, Calif. (July 9, 2025) — A three-vehicle collision in San Mateo caused traffic delays and left at least one person with minor injuries Wednesday morning on westbound State Route 92 near the Delaware Street off-ramp.

According to the California Highway Patrol the crash occurred around 10:15 a.m. on July 9th and initially blocked the off-ramp and the No. 2 lane. Responding officers confirmed the incident involved the drivers of a black Audi with major front-end damage and a Jeep that required towing.

One injured party from the Jeep was transported from the scene to Mills-Peninsula Medical Center – San Mateo, though details on the extent of their injuries were not released. The incident was later reclassified as a minor-injury crash.

Tow trucks from Action Tow and Atlas were dispatched to clear the damaged vehicles, and one of the vehicles was moved to Concar Drive in San Mateo to ease congestion.

All lanes were eventually reopened by late morning, but residual delays continued for some time.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation by the California Highway Patrol.
