3-Vehicle San Jose Crash on State Route 85, Camden Avenue
SAN JOSE, Calif. (July 2, 2025) — A three-vehicle collision caused major traffic disruptions on northbound State Route 85 near Camden Avenue Wednesday morning, prompting an emergency response and temporarily blocking multiple lanes.
The crash was reported at approximately 7:23 a.m. on July 2nd, according to the California Highway Patrol’s online incident log. All three vehicles involved were blocking lanes 1 through 3, causing a significant traffic backup during the morning commute. One of the vehicles, a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck, overturned onto its side, and two Honda Civic sedans sustained major damage.
Emergency responders, including paramedics and tow services, were dispatched to the scene. The #1 lane remained blocked for a time as crews worked to clear the wreckage, while the slow lane was briefly used as a detour route. At least one party was transported for medical treatment, though the extent of injuries was not immediately released.
Traffic was fully reopened by around 10:01 a.m., but not before the incident caused extensive delays for northbound drivers on SR-85.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation by CHP. Anyone who witnessed the crash or has additional information is encouraged to contact the CHP San Jose Area Office.
