ANAHEIM, California (May 21, 2016) —Marianne Kasuya, 24, was killed and two men were gravely injured early Saturday morning when their car collided with a tanker truck at Lincoln and Dale avenues, according to an Orange County Register
UPDATE: One of the two men, Richard Redfoot, 26, of Lakewood, died a few hours later at UCI Medical Center.
The fatal crash took place about 1:28 a.m. when the driver of a black Honda Civic allegedly ran through a red traffic light and struck the tanker truck. Firefighters used the Jaws of Life to extricate the three occupants of the Honda who were trapped in the vehicle. The female passenger who was in the front seat of the car died of her injuries on scene and two men were critically injured and taken to local hospitals for treatment. The report stated the two young men in their 20s were declared brain dead. Richard Redfoot died about 5:07 p.m. the same day at UCI Medical Center.
Police found marijuana in the vehicle, but it’s not clear if it was a factor in the crash.
The truck driver was visibly shaken up after the crash, but was not injured and was cooperating with police.
