The crash was reported around 11:20 a.m., just west of Highway 121 near Sonoma Raceway.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said 34-year-old David Martinez was driving a 1998 GMC Safari east when he hit a 2000 Volvo S40 sedan in front.
The 34-year-old Petaluma man was unable to stop in time before rear-ending the Volvo driven by 25-year-old San Francisco resident Ryan Ebeling. He reportedly looked away for a moment prior to the accident.
Three other occupants in the van, an adult and two girls, ages 5 and 6, were taken to a hospital with complaints of pain. A passenger in the Volvo was also transported for treatment of minor injuries.
