DUI Crash Injures 4 People on Highway 43 in Corcoran

CORCORAN, California (May 2, 2016) – Four were hurt in a DUI crash early Sunday Highway 43, north of Nevada Avenue, according to The Sentinel. (map)
California Highway Patrol said 20-year-old Madera resident Christian Morales Chavez was driving a 2011 Nissan Sentra south on Highway 43 around 2 a.m., when he veered into the northbound lane into the path of a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado.
The two vehicles collided, forcing the Nissan to overturn onto the shoulder. The Chevrolet went off the road.
As per The Sentinel, three occupants in the Nissan sustained minor injuries. One of the passengers, a 28-year-old McFarland woman, was transported to Adventist Medical Center for treatment.
Meanwhile, Chavez was also hospitalized to be treated for minor injuries. He was later booked into the Kings County Jail on suspicion of felony DUI causing injury and driving on a suspended or revoked license with a bail set at $105,000.
