2 Adults, 2 Boys Injured in Small Plane Crash in Wilton
SACRAMENTO, Calif. (Oct. 15, 2021) — A small plane crash in Wilton happened Thursday in Sacramento County near Alta Mesa and Blake roads.
An adult man, two teenage boys and a pregnant women suffered major injuries in the small plane crash yesterday in the front yard of a home, ABC 30 News reports. A video taken by a witness shows the plane take off and crash with in minutes due to unknown reasons.
Sacramento Metro firefighters responded quickly to the crash scene to help four passengers. However, a bystander armed with a fire extinguisher was first to come to their aide as they exited the burning plane. Firefighters quickly engulfed the aircraft but it ignited a small brush fire.
4 Hospitalized after Fiery Small Plane Crash
The four people were rushed to a hospital with serious burns from the accident. The relationship between the four people is unknown at this time. Also, the report did not mention if this was a private plane or commercial aircraft. All four are expected to survive their injuries, according to news reports.
Firefighters subsequently extinguished the vegetation fire following the accident.
Investigators with the Federal Aviation Administration and National Safety Board will investigate the cause of the crash.
