Rollover Crash on Gravel Truck Ramp
KERN COUNTY, Calif. (Dec. 13, 2017) — A car carrying four people appears to have lost its brakes Wednesday and overturned multiple times on a gravel truck escape ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision was reported about 7:27 a.m. The vehicle landed back on its wheels. Police stated there was one person with a possible head injury and all occupants were outside of the vehicle. It’s unclear whether they got out on their own or were ejected. There may have been others also hurt in the crash, but the report did not specify.
The cause of the crash and liability are under review by police.
Police are heading up an investigation into liability for this collision and will determine fault. A mechanical failure could be due to lack of maintenance, improper repairs or a manufacturer defect. The driver and a business or auto maker could be held accountable if there are injuries that result from a crash.
