4 Hospitalized After Santa Barbara Rollover Crash on Highway 101 at Bath Street
2 Vehicles Overturn, Third Car Involved
SANTA BARBARA, California (May 15, 2016) – Four were hospitalized after a rollover collision on Highway 101 Saturday afternoon, according to Noozhawk. (map)
The 3-vehicle crash took place at 4:45 p.m. on northbound Highway 101 at the Bath Street exit.
Santa Barbara Fire Department said two vehicles clipped each other after apparently trying to change lanes at the same time. A third car became involved, as the first two vehicles rolled over into a ditch adjacent to the exit ramp,
A sedan and an SUV landed on their wheels with moderate to major damage. The wreck sent the third car to spin, leaving it damaged moderately.
Fire department affirmed a total of four people were transported to Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital for treatment. One patient was the driver of the third car who complained of back pain.
One of the victims was extricated from one of the vehicles involved. The names and conditions of the wounded parties were not released.
The incident is still under investigation.
