A series of two separate traffic collisions took place about 5 a.m. on the southbound 710 Freeway near Alondra Boulevard.
As per the article, California Highway Patrol said the first accident involved three vehicles and was described as non-injury. The second incident, involving three cars as well, was considered as a major injury.
It was after the second collision that the hit-and-run crash occurred.
CHP affirmed that at least one occupant was extricated after being trapped in a vehicle. A total of four parties were injured, including one critically hurt.
Compton Fire Department reported that three taken to an area hospital while the fourth patient was transported to a trauma center for treatment.
Authorities will continue to investigate.
