Chain-Reaction Collision on I-880 in San Jose
SAN JOSE, Calif. (July 3, 2024) — Several vehicles were involved in a traffic accident Wednesday morning on the southbound Interstate 880 Freeway in San Jose.
The collision occurred at around 8:32 a.m. on July 3rd, just north of the East Brokaw Road off ramp, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a silver Mazda 3, a silver Kia Nero, a grey Chrysler Pacifica SUV and a grey Nissan Pathfinder SUV were involved in a chain-reaction crash in the number one lane.
The Kia had major front-end damage after it rear-ended one of the other vehicles. The Mazda had major front-end damage as well as moderate rear-end damage. All four vehicles were towed from the freeway due to damage.
Paramedics responded to help at least one person injured in the San Jose accident on the Interstate 880, but there are no further details.
Finally, investigators are working to determine fault for the collision.
