Fatal Crash on Long Beach Freeway
LONG BEACH, Calif. (June 26, 2023) – Five people died in a solo-vehicle crash early Monday on the Long Beach (710) Freeway.
The driver and four passengers of a dark-colored sedan reportedly crashed into an attenuator around 4:12 a.m. on June 26th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The collision occurred just south of the transition to the Artesia (91) Freeway, the report said. Also, the vehicle was struck by at least two other vehicles and the car burst into flames, the report said. The car became fully engulfed before anyone could get out.
The traffic accident occurred on the the northbound Long Beach Freeway.
A bystander grabbed a fire extinguisher and ran to try and put out the fire. Sadly, all five people in the car died at the scene.
Police issued a SigAlert and closed down all northbound lanes of the 710 Freeway.
The investigation into the deadly crash is ongoing.
