5 Injured in Redding Crash into Bus Stop on Lake Boulevard
Two Drivers Allegedly Drunk Collide, One Hits Pedestrians at Bus Stop
REDDING, Calif. (June 30, 2026) — Five people were injured Friday night in Redding after a suspected DUI driver allegedly ran a red light and collided with another vehicle before crashing into people at a bus stop at Lake Boulevard near Oasis Road.
According to the Redding Police Department the two-vehicle collision occurred around 8:57 p.m. on Friday, June 26th between a 1997 Honda Odyssey minivan and a 2016 Mitsubishi sedan.
Detectives working on the case determined the minivan’s driver, Anthony Martin, 23, was traveling southbound on Lake Boulevard at a high rate of speed driving towards Oasis Road.
Authorities report the driver failed to stop at the red light at the intersection and continued traveling southbound on Lake Boulevard.
Meanwhile, the driver in the Mitsubishi was exiting the parking lot for the Dollar General store and entering Lake Boulevard, just south of the intersection.
The minivan reportedly crashed into the car, causing the Mitsubishi to enter the sidewalk and the minivan to slam into a bus stop on the sidewalk.
The Mitsubishi struck two pedestrians who were at the bus stop. Paramedics responded and rushed the two men from the bus stop to Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center for treatment of serious injuries.
Also, the driver and the passenger from the Mitsubishi were also seriously injured in the crash. Michael Wyckoff, 41, and his female passenger were both transported by ambulances to Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center and Shasta Regional Medical Center. Investigators determined that Wyckoff and his passenger were both under the influence of alcohol.
Furthermore, the driver of the Honda Odyssey was also found to be driving intoxicated with alcohol and drugs. He was taken to Dignity Health Mercy Medical Center for treatment of injuries and then booked into the Shasta County Jail on multiple felony charges.
