Multi-Vehicle Collision at Highways 152 and 59 Near El Nido
MERCED COUNTY, Calif. (Feb. 5, 2025) — Five vehicles were involved in a crash on Highway 152, just west of State Route 59 near El Nido in Merced County.
The traffic accident occurred in the eastbound lanes of SR-152 at 7:20 a.m. on Feb. 5th, according to the California Highway Patrol.
CHP officials reported the drivers of a black Infiniti, a Toyota Camry, and three other vehicles were involved in the wreck.
Traffic came to a stop following the crash on the bridge between the two highways where the roadway was already down to one lane due to construction. Fortunately, there were no workers in the area at the time of the accident. However, the crash left a 3-foot scuff or scrape mark in a concrete center divider wall, the report said.
Paramedics responded to help those injured, but there were no serious injuries reported.
Tow trucks removed at least three of the vehicles including cars with major front-end and rear-end damage, the report said.
Investigators are working to determine fault for the crash on Highway 152 in Merced County.
